"A Sinuous Sojourn" by Srividya Balkrishnan is a story of a 108-year-old shape-changing Serpent, Nia. Nia lost her husband, Naag, as three men gunshot him. So she decided to take revenge on them. She arrives in New York for taking revenge, but here she falls in love with a man named Rob, who is her best friend's brother. Nia knows that he also loves her madly just like her, but neither she has confessed her love to him nor he has.
It is a short read of just 69 pages which you can read in one sitting and this is perfect especially for beginners to start. Language is lucid and the narration style is engaging. The story keeps on switching between flashback and present. The story will keep you hooked till the last page. If I talk about the title and the cover, then I didn't understand the meaning of the title initially, but the cover of this book was the sole reason for me to pick this book up.
Is Nia going to succeed in her revenge? Whether Rob will accept her knowing that she is a shape-changing serpent? Nia will agree to marry a human knowing the fact that after marrying a human she will lose all her power? To know the answer to these questions, you need to read the book first.
