"Hate the sin, not the Sinner"
"The Girl in the Red Lipstick" by Ajay K. Singh revolves around a budding author, Arun Kumar and a prostitute, Lalita. Arun Kumar has gone to Kolkata for his book launch, where he fell from stairs and hurt his back, which leads him towards a spa girl, Lalita. Later he discovers that Lalita is a prostitute and came to know about her story that how she wanted to study further but circumstances led her towards this prostitution. Lalita has a desire to leave this prostitution and lead a normal life, but circumstances always hold her back. Arun decided to help her, so he made a plan to rescue her from this prostitution.
Kudos to the author! For writing about such a sensitive topic, human trafficking and showing the harsh truth of the prostitutes that how they are treated in the society and how there is no way back to normal once they got involved in prostitution, somewhere deep down it's the society which never allows them to lead a normal life. Talking about the language and narration style, then language is lucid and narration style is engaging. I completed the story in one go as the story is intriguing and entertaining. The story will keep you hooked throughout the book till the last page. My eyes were moist after reading the last page and the ending touched my heart. I would suggest this book to beginners as the language is pretty easy.
"Always call a prostitute a lady, you have no idea what she has been through"
How Arun is going to rescue Lalita? Even if he is successful in doing this whether society would let Lalita lead a normal life? Whether family members of Arun are going to help him throughout this? To know the answer to these questions, you need to read the book first.
