"The keys to longevity are diet, exercise, finding a purpose in life (Ikigai), and forming social ties - that is, having a broad circle of friends and good family relations."

"Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life" is a self-help book written by Hector Garcia Puigcerver and Francesc Miralles. In this book, the author takes us on a journey to 'the village of longevity", Okinawa in Japan. It is said that the highest number of centurions live in this village in Japan, Okinawa. That's the reason the village is referred to as "The Village of Longevity". The authors of the book have introduced the Japanese concept of living a long and happy life, Ikigai. They talked to lots of centurions of Okinawa and then shared their insights in this book. Ikigai in simple terms means -  a reason to jump out of bed every morning, a reason for living.

I chose this after reading the blurb, thinking that this book will give me some life-changing tools that will help me uncover my personal Ikigai. After finishing this book, I realised that there was nothing extraordinary thing given in the book, nothing that we don't know already. But, the thing is that we all know, but we don't follow. It was like a reminder to do things which we think are not necessary, but if we start following these simple things which we have overlooked for a long time, then it would be a game changer for our life. The simplest things backed by reasoning will definitely act as a game changers and would persuade you to follow these simple things and find your Ikigai. This book helped me introspect and retrospect, my life.

Talking about the language of the book, it is quite lucid and easy for beginners also to grasp the book. The cover of this book is simple yet beautiful, the blue colour gives a calming effect to the mind. I would suggest this to everyone, even to non-readers also.

"Even those who claim to be good at multitasking are not very productive. In fact, they are some of the least productive people."
