Sri Devi Mahatmyam

Devi Mahatmyam recounts Devi's glory and origins. It combines awe inspiring battles with profound religious teachings, philosophy, and devotion. This book has been specially curated for children. The author has retold the story in a very lucid language with some question and answer so that children can grasp the story easily. It contains stories from Markandeya Purana that have been illustrated for children to enjoy reading. I would suggest this book to parents who want to instill some religious beliefs in children as a bedtime story. These stories will not only inculcate spirituality into the children but at the same it will be enjoyable for children.

Even adult will enjoy reading this book. the simple language, colourful imagery, black and white ones for shading, questionnair after each chapter, the ease and smooth flow of story line with structured layout of the knowledge all contribute to a joyful and insightful process of reading.

the authors comprehensive information about Rishi Markandeya, his birth, and the origins of the Mahamrityunjaya Chant give me the chills. I was unaware of the back story. The nine devises, the cycle of reincarnation, the simplified meaning of life, eradicating illusion from the face of evidence, the devi catchphrases the procedure for celebrating the devil, and the mythical stories crafted this nook a joy to read and absorb. I completed it in one session.
